HOKA Arahi 9: Stability that still feels light on your feet The Arahi 9 is HOKA's everyday stability shoe for runners and walkers who want a little help keeping their feet from rolling in, without a heavy or clunky feel. It sits on a wider base than most stability shoes, so it feels planted and steady, but it still moves light and nimble once you get going. Instead of a hard post or raised side rails, HOKA builds the guidance right into the midsole with its H-Frame, then adds a rocker so each step rolls through smoothly. Version 9 refreshes the upper with more support along the inside of the foot and enhances the H-Frame, while keeping the same familiar ride guests liked in the Arahi 8. Our Fit Team Verdict A wide, steady platform that still feels light and quick, with room in the toe box that never turns sloppy. An easy pick whether you're logging miles or walking every day. What's new in the Arahi 9 More support built into the upper The refreshed upper focuses on adding support along the inside of the foot, where it tends to roll in. A new 3D silicone print adds texture and touchpoints across the mesh, and reflective details help you stay visible on early or late outings. An enhanced H-Frame The open, H-shaped frame in the midsole has been enhanced for a smooth transition through each step and support on both the inside and outside of the foot. The changes add a little weight: about 0.2 oz per shoe in men's and 0.5 oz in women's compared to the Arahi 8. Key performance highlights 01 Midsole Foam & Cushioning Dual-density EVA foam gives a balanced feel: soft enough for long days, with enough firmness that the shoe never feels mushy or wobbly. 02 Ride & Support Firmer foam framed around the heel and midfoot guides your foot through each step, and an early rocker helps you roll off the toes with less effort. The wide base adds a planted, steady feel without slowing you down. 03 Upper & Fit Engineered mesh with a padded tongue and heel collar locks in the heel and midfoot, while the forefoot leaves comfortable room for toes to spread out. Reflective details add a bit of visibility in low light. 04 Outsole & Traction Durable rubber is laid out in separate pods over the high-wear zones, so you get grip and long wear without the shoe feeling like a stiff slab. Sizing & fit notes True to size in length Most guests can stick with their usual size. The midfoot holds snug, and our fit team finds nice room in the toe box without it feeling too loose. Widths and insoles Men's comes in regular (D), wide (2E), and extra wide (4E, sizes 7 to 14). Women's comes in regular (B), wide (D), and extra wide (2E). Wider widths can vary by color. The insole is removable, so it works with most over-the-counter or custom insoles, and the shoe carries the APMA Seal of Acceptance. Arahi 9 FAQ Is the HOKA Arahi 9 good for walking or standing at work? Yes. The wide, stable base and balanced cushioning make the Arahi 9 a great everyday walking shoe and a solid choice for long shifts on hard floors. One tip from our fit team: a shoe's support is built around a walking or running stride, so standing in one spot all day puts more work on your arches. Pairing the Arahi 9 with a Currex RunPro insole adds arch support for those long hours in one place. How does the Arahi 9 compare to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS? Both are everyday stability shoes, but they guide your foot in different ways. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS uses raised guide rails along the sides of the midsole that keep your foot centered when it starts to drift. The Arahi 9 builds firmer foam into a frame inside the midsole and adds a rocker, so it tends to roll through more smoothly and sits on a wider base. Try them side by side, since most guests know their favorite within a few steps. What's the difference between the Arahi 9 and the HOKA Gaviota? The HOKA Gaviota is HOKA's max-cushion stability shoe, with a taller stack and an even wider base for guests who want as much cushioning and support as possible. The Arahi 9 is lighter, closer to the ground, and more responsive, so it suits guests who want stability without the extra bulk. Is the Arahi 9 good for plantar fasciitis or heel pain? Many guests with plantar fasciitis or heel pain find a stable, well-cushioned shoe like the Arahi 9 comfortable, since the frame keeps the heel steady and the rocker helps each step roll through. Every foot is different, though. One tip from our fit team: sore heels often go along with arches that need more support than a shoe alone can give, so come in and try the Arahi 9 with a Powerstep Pulse insole to feel the difference. How long does the HOKA Arahi 9 last? Most runners get roughly 300 to 500 miles out of a daily trainer like the Arahi 9. If you mainly walk or wear it at work, watch for creasing in the midsole, worn-down tread, or a flat feeling underfoot, which usually shows up within six months to a year of daily wear.
